Licence keys and Pro

I paid but can’t find my licence key: It’s in the email from Freemius, sent to the address you paid with; check spam or junk. It was also on the page you saw right after paying. Still nothing? Email support@tailsgate.com from that address and we’ll resend it. Please don’t buy again: a second purchase is a second subscription.
How do I switch Pro on?: Open a Google Doc, click the TrickleType icon to open the panel, click the plan button at the top (it says “Free”), paste the key into Licence key and press Activate. The button changes to “Pro”.
“That key wasn’t recognised”: Copy and paste the key from the email rather than typing it. Keys mix symbols, capitals and look-alike letters, and one wrong character is enough.
“Active on its maximum number of devices”: Your key is already switched on in another browser. On that browser, open the plan button and press Deactivate, then activate here. If you no longer have that browser, email support@tailsgate.com and we’ll free the seat.
Moving to a new computer: Deactivate the key in the old browser (plan button → Deactivate), then paste it into TrickleType on the new one.

Typing

Typing stopped or slowed down: Typing in a tab needs Chrome open and the computer awake. A background tab or a minimised window is fine; closing the Doc tab, quitting Chrome or letting the computer sleep pauses the run. Open the Doc again and TrickleType offers to carry on. To keep typing with the laptop closed, use Cloud typing (Pro).
The text came out with odd formatting: TrickleType types plain text key by key, so Google Docs treats it like your own typing: a line starting “1. ” becomes a numbered list, and some word-plus-Enter combinations become emoji. Turn those off under Tools → Preferences in Docs if they get in the way.
How long can a run be?: Up to 1 hour on Free (1,000 words a day) and up to 7 days on Pro. Cloud runs go up to 7 days for now.
Cloud typing asks to connect Google: Cloud typing types from our server, so it needs permission to edit the Docs you pick, and Google asks you to select each Doc the first time. Typing in your tab never needs a Google sign-in.

Billing and privacy

Cancelling Monthly or Yearly: Use the link in your Freemius receipt email, or email us and we’ll do it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
Refunds: Email support@tailsgate.com within 7 days of paying and we’ll refund you. No form, no questions.
Student or teacher price: Verify your school email on the student page and your first month of Monthly is $0.99.
What does TrickleType send anywhere?: Typing in your tab keeps your text on your device. Pro checks the licence key about once a day. Cloud typing sends that run’s draft to our server and deletes it when the run ends. The privacy policy lists every flow.
